Eligibility &
Qualifications

Lumipad runs two tracks: an in-person cohort in Mindanao and a remote cohort for participants anywhere in the world. Both are 100% free. Here's who qualifies.

In-person · Mindanao

Cohort 03 — Davao

Six weeks of hands-on training in our Davao workshop. You graduate with a working drone and everything you need to launch a crop-survey microenterprise.

  • Resident of Mindanao, Visayas, or Palawan.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • An endorsement from a local cooperative, NGO, barangay official, or Lumipad partner organisation — or an equivalent community connection we can verify.
  • Available for the full six-week program, in person, in Davao.
  • Intent to operate as a microenterprise offering crop-survey services to nearby farms after graduation.
  • No prior electronics or drone experience required — we teach everything from scratch.

Priority: women, youth (18-25), and applicants from cacao-growing communities.

100% Free Tuition, training, parts and a working drone — all included for every qualified participant.

A 12-week virtual program with parts shipped to your door. Designed for organisations and individuals deploying the Lumipad model in their own region.

  • Affiliation with a community organisation, agri-cooperative, NGO, or educational institution (or an equivalent verifiable body).
  • A workspace where the drone can be assembled, stored, and tested safely.
  • Reliable internet for live workshops and 1:1 mentorship sessions.
  • Availability across the 12-week remote program.
  • A clear plan to deploy the program in your community or region after graduation.

No tuition. Participants are responsible only for any local import duties on shipped parts.

What every participant receives.

01

Hands-on training

Six weeks (local) or twelve weeks (remote) of structured training — simulators, soldering, full assembly, flight school, and business planning.

02

A working drone

A fully assembled, calibrated Lumipad Quad — yours to keep, fly and earn with. Local cohorts build theirs in-workshop; remote participants receive a shipped parts kit.

03

Lifetime library access

Plans, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and the full curriculum — every resource we develop, free under Creative Commons.

04

Business starter kit

Pricing templates, sample invoices, contracts in Filipino, and a starter spreadsheet for tracking jobs across barangays.

05

Platform & mobile app

Free, lifetime access to the Lumipad platform — tree counts, NDVI imagery, pest detection and yield estimates for every survey you fly.

06

Alumni network

Ongoing support from the Lumipad community — repair help, job referrals, cooperatives looking for pilots, and connections across cohorts.
